Sweet BBQ Mustard Chili Chicken Wings |
Sometimes, Facebook videos save lives when you don't know what to make for dinner. So, I highly recommend saving cooking videos on Youtube and Facebook whenever you chance upon them because you'll never know when they'll come in handy.
This is one fine example.
I used some chicken keel that I bought a few days ago from the grocery store and as it sat there defrosting, I was still trying to think of what to do with it. LOL. Such is life.
The chicken was sweet, savory and I put a little twist to it by creating a sauce that I poured over it or use as a dipping sauce. Chicken keel can be dry when you bake it in the oven. Anyway, here's something you can absolutely do in your own kitchen because it is a no-brainer. Just mix the sauce, marinade and pop it into the oven. Stir-fry some vegetables, cook some rice and dinner is ready.
You can head over to my cookpad for this recipe to print it out. Here are also more kitchen adventures on my blog under the Creative Kitchen tag! I wish I updated it more....and I will. =)
Have fun in the kitchen,
Love,
Marsha
Sweet BBQ Mustard Chili Chicken Wings
Recipe adapted from a Facebook video I saw online. It's sweet, savory and works great on chicken wings and drumsti...
Ingredients
- 2.5 tbsp BBQ sauce (honey, garlic or others will work as well)
- 2 tbsp chili sauce (garlic or Thai chili sauce optional)
- 1.5 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1.5 tbsp dijon mustard
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (honey or normal sugar will also do)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 dash salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- 1.5 tbsp sesame seed oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp corn flour
- 1.5 cup chicken broth (or water)
- chicken keel (cut up), wings or drumsticks
Method
- Mix all of the above (except corn flour, water/broth and soy sauce) into a bowl and taste. Adjust to taste
- Pour 3/4 of the sauce together with chicken and mix well. Marinade for at least 2 hours
- Place chicken into oven at approximately 120 - 160 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes (depends on oven)
- Heat up a pot and pour balance of mixture of sauce into the pot. Add water, soy sauce and adjust to taste. Create slurry with corn flour and water and pour into cooked sauce, mix well and reserve
- When the chicken is done, plate and pour sauce over chicken and serve! The sauce can be used as a dipping sauce if you set it aside.
